This game is the worst game I have ever played! ok, so not as bad as Syberia for xbox but bad enough that I would rate it 2 stars! even though the storyline is ok, the game ended to quickly. Also, the battle scenes (Harry practicing his magic on the washing machine) was very fake and very boring. The washing machine moved in a pattern all the time so there was no surprise to what it would do next. If you ever want to play this game, I suggest that you should be able to withstand the annoying save games (you can't allways save the game whenever you want). So go ahead and give it a try if you aren't afraid of wasting your money.

CADASIL

CADASIL stands for Cerebral Autosomal Dominant Arteriopathy with Subcortical Infarcts and Leukoencephalopathy and is a genetic disease characterised by migraines with aura, cerebrovascular disease causing dementia and stroke. The disease is caused by a mutation of the NOTCH3 gene. Some patients also experience mood disorders and epilepsy. CADASIL brain damage is characterized by subcortical infarcts, white matter damage and microbleeds. An ultrastructural analysis shows small caliber arterial damage, consisting in smooth muscle cells loss, swollen endothelial cells and osmiophilic deposits. There is some evidence showing that clinical progression depends on mutation's localization in the gene sequence.CADASIL has only recently been discovered and only around 400 families with the disease have been diagnosed. However, it is believed that the disease is far more prevalent than current diagnoses indicate.

First_Growth

First Growth (French language|French ''Premier Cru'') status refers to the greatest wines of the Bordeaux region. According to the Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855, only four red wines were assigned the status of ''Premier Cru'', three from M?doc and one from Graves. In addition, eleven of the sweet white wines of Sauternes and Barsac were classed as ''Premier Cru'', and one (Ch?teau d'Yquem) was granted a special ''Premier Cru Sup?rieur'' (Great First Growth) classification. With the exception of Ch?teau Haut-Brion from Graves, the 1855 Classification overlooked the regions of Graves, Saint-Emilion and Pomerol entirely, despite the fact that several were and remain to be ranked among the finest red wines in the world. For details on their own classification schemes, see their sections below. In addition, Burgundy maintains its own classification scheme based on specific appellations.

Heartsease

The Heartsease (''Viola triocolor'') is a common European wild flower, growing as an annual or short-lived perennial. It has been introduced species|introduced into North America, where it has spread widely, and is known as the Johnny Jump Up (though this name is also applied to similar native species such as the Yellow Pansy). It is the progenitor of the cultivated Pansy, and is therefore sometimes called the Wild Pansy; before the cultivated Pansies were developed, "pansy" was an alternative name for the wild form. The Heartsease is a small plant of creeping habit, reaching at most 15cm in height, with flowers about 1.5 cm in diameter. It grows in short grassland on farms and wasteland, chiefly on acid or neutral soils. It is usually found in partial shade. It flowers from April to September. The flowers can be purple, blue, yellow or white. They are hermaphrodite and self-fertile, pollinated by bees.As its name implies, Heartsease has a long history of use in herbalis! m. It has been recommended, among other uses, as a treatment for epilepsy, asthma, skin diseases and eczema. It has expectorant properties, and so has been used in the treatment of chest complaints such as bronchitis and whooping cough. It is also a diuretic, leading to its use in treating rheumatism and cystitis. The flowers have also been used to make yellow, green and blue-green dyes, while the leaves can be used to make a chemical indicator.Long before cultivated pansies were developed, the heartsease was associated with thought in the "language of flowers", often by its alternative name of pansy: hence Ophelia (character)|Ophelia's often quoted line in William Shakespeare|Shakespeare's ''Hamlet'', "There's pansies, that's for thoughts". What Shakespeare had in mind was the heartsease, not a modern garden pansy.Heartsease has a large number of alternative colloquial names, up to two hundred.

Cork_(material)

cork
Cork material is a subset of generic Cork (tissue)|cork tissue, harvested for commercial use primarily from the Cork oak tree, ''Quercus suber'', with Portugal producing most cork worldwide.Cork's elastic|elasticity combined with its near-impermeability makes it suitable as a material for bottle stopper (plug)|stoppers, especially for wine bottles. Cork stoppers represent ca. 60% of all cork based production. Cork's low density makes it a suitable material for fishing floats and buoys. Sheets of cork, often the byproduct of more lucrative stopper production, are used to make floor tiles and bulletin boards. The cork industry is generally regarded as environmentally friendly. The sustainability of its production and the easy recycling of cork's products and by-products are two of its most distinctive aspects.Cork demand has increased due to a larger proportion of wine being sealed with cork rather than being sold in bulk. Since a tree's bark can only be harvested once a decad! e or so, supply is highly Elasticity (economics)|inelastic. Top quality corks are quite expensive, so cheaper brands have switched to lower quality cork, synthetic plastic stoppers, screwcaps, or other closures. These also eliminate cork taint. The synthetic stoppers also do not dry out and shrink so the bottles do not have to be on their sides to prevent the wine from oxidation|oxidizing. However, on the down side, both synthetic stoppers and screwcaps require different winemaking methods to some extent, as sulfur dioxide (SO2) levels need to be different, and there may be different wine faults due to oxidation or reduction.Cork contamination with harmless but foul-smelling trichloroanisole (TCA) is one of the primary causes of cork taint in wine. Cork related trichloroanisole has been reduced by means of new and more reliable production methods, such as changes in the bleaching process.Recently cork has also been used in rocket technology due to its fire resist! ance. It can also be used as bricks for the outer wall of a ho! use. (Th is was seen at the Portugal Pavilion Expo 2000.)Note that the cork oak is unrelated to the family of "cork trees", which are not used for cork product:
*''Phellodendron amurense'' - Amur cork tree or Chinese cork tree
*''Phellodendron japonicum'' - Japanese cork tree
*''Phellodendron lavallei''
*''Phellodendron sachalinense''

I could kick myself for digging through a shelf of quotation books to find Lord Byron's "There's nought no doubt so much the spirit calms as rum and true religion." Rum, by Dave Broom, a luxuriant keeper volume published by the Wine Appreciation Guild, has got the very same quote emblazoned on the back cover. Of course, Byron used the term "rum" to refer to all potent alcoholic beverages. If anything, the usage attests to the wide historical and social reach of rum. "Here is a drink," Broom writes, "that has been the catalyst for the birth of nations." The scope of Rum, the book, aided immeasurably by the superb photography of Jason Lowe, does true justice to the beverage. Rum is distilled from sugar cane, and like sugar, it reveals a history of misery and pain. "Rum was slavery's currency; it made some people vast fortunes and helped others forget their misery," Broom reflects. Caribbean sugar production was so labor-intensive that it almost mandated that slaves be worked ! to death and periodically replaced. The rum and slave trade went hand-in-hand, enriching cities like Bristol in England and Newport, Rhode Island. American rum, sugar and slave trade with the Caribbean led to the first major commercial rifts between the American colonies and England; these soon escalated into heated debate, then gunfire and revolution. America's founding fathers reached for rum above all other beverages when they needed to stiffen their resolve. In the nineteenth century, technical innovation spurred the creation of a modern rum industry. The Caribbean nations stratified into various "schools" of rum production: Don Facunado Bacardi in Cuba developed light rums; Jamaica kept to fuller-flavored rums ("Jamaicans are hard-headed people. They weren't going to change.") In the twentieth century, changing beverage tastes in Britain (favoring whiskies), prohibition in the US, and the Great Depression of the 1930s signaled a decline in rum's popularity. Today's sw! ing away from the whiskies and towards exotic mixed drinks her! alds a r evival. After covering the history of the beverage in great depth, Broom moves to an exacting study of how rum is manufactured. It all begins in the sugar fields. Harvesting and processing sugar cane and its derivatives is "hot, hard, brutal work that has not changed over the centuries," Broom writes. Manufacturing processes vary throughout the Caribbean. You'd never imagine that photographs of pipes and distilling equipment-much of it aged, all of it dignified-could be so exquisite. The passion for the machines and the processes cannot be separated from the passionate beverage itself. Rum is more than a drink; like salt, cotton, pepper or gold, it is a human story. The key core of Rum is a section entitled "Pure Rums." Broom covers each nation's rum culture and industry in detail, starting with Cuba, "the island that first elevated rum from an interesting to a modern classic spirit." Cuba, the largest Caribbean island, is "the cradle for most of the world's great rum-base! d cocktails and is home to some of the finest barmen on the planet." Jamaica, of course, has its own ideas. Rum is integral to Jamaican life. Even non-drinking Jamaicans use the beverage as a medicinal rub for wounds and to ward off colds. Jamaicans drink their strong rums-which may at times be distilled illegally-with passion and quickly-voiced opinion. Yet all the islands, and mainland South American nations like Guyana, Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Venezuela and Brazil, have their own rum heritage. French-speaking Martinique has its own rhum agricole-cane juice rum-subject to strict appellation regulations. Guadeloupe's rhum traditionelle is extremely popular in France as a cooking ingredient. Puerto Rico, home of present-day Bacardi, has become a major rum producer for the American market. The British have their variants; the Royal Navy long motivated its sailors by dispensing (or withholding) rations of rum. Rums are produced in India, Nepal, the Philippines,! and all over the world. You don't just sip or "nose" rum, Br! oom insi sts, "you pull all your senses to work: sight, smell, taste, hearing, touch-plus that remarkable reference bank in your head known as memory." And, yes, Broom recommends a certain type of glass for your tasting, in this case a tulip-shaped sherry copita, a brandy snifter, or even a white wine glass; anything but a tumbler. Once you've refined your sense and taste for rum, you can try a hand at some of the "ancient cocktails" (Classic Daiquiri, Rum Flip, Tom and Jerry) or "modern cocktails" (Between the Sheets, Floridita, Mai Tai, Mojito). An extensive final section explains and reviews more than 180 major rum brands, many with evocative label illustrations. Ultimately, Rum-in all its ebullience-could hardly pretend to calm the spirit as Byron suggests; you'd require the real thing for that. Food writer Elliot Essman's other reviews and food articles are available at www.stylegourmet.com

Rum

Rum is a distilled beverage made from sugarcane by-products such as molasses and sugarcane juice by a process of fermentation and distillation. The distillate, a clear liquid, is then usually aged in oak and other casks. While there are rum producers in places such as Australia, India, Reunion Island, and elsewhere around the world, the majority of rum production occurs in and around the Caribbean and along the Demerara river in South America. Some major rum brands include Bacardi, Stroh, Mount Gay, Bundaberg Rum|Bundaberg, Myers Rum|Myers, and Pusser's.Rum is produced in a variety of styles. Light rums are commonly used in mixed drinks, while golden and dark rums are appropriate for use in cooking as well as cocktails. Premium brands of rum are also available that are made to be consumed neat or on the rocks.Rum plays a part in the culture of most islands of the West Indies, and has famous associations with the British Royal Navy and piracy. Rum has also served as a pop! ular medium of exchange that helped to promote slavery along with providing economic instigation for Australia's Rum Rebellion and the American Revolution.

I had a blast playing this game, but there were several points where I got stuck in the clipping and had to reset the game and as luck would have it, I was far from the save books. Other than these issues, it was a very fun game. I wasn't able to finish it though because of the clipping snags.

Guastavino_tile

Guastavino tile refers to the "Tile Arch System" patented in the US in 1885 by Catalan architect and builder Rafael Guastavino (1842–1908). It is a technique for constructing robust, self-supporting arches and architectural vaults using interlocking terracotta tiles and layers of mortar. His work is found in New York’s most beloved landmarks and in major buildings across the country.

Ice wine is a type of dessert wine produced from grapes that have been frozen. The sugars and other dissolved solids do not freeze, but the water does, so the result is an unusually concentrated, often very sweet wine. The effect is comparable to the freeze distillation that was traditionally used to make applejack and similar beverages, but in the case of ice wines, the freezing happens before the fermentation, not afterwards. Unlike other unfortified dessert wines, grapes for ice wine tend not to be affected by ''Botrytis cinerea.'' When the grapes are free of ''botrytis,'' they are said to have come in "clean." The most famous (and expensive) ice wines are German wine|German Eisweins, but ice wine is also made in Canada as well as in the United States, Austria, Slovenia, Australia, and New Zeland in smaller quantity. Eiswein is part of the QmP category in the German wine classification. Ice wine production in Canada is regulated by the Vintners Quality Alliance. Canada h! as unusually consistent freezes in winter, and has become the largest icewine producer in the world.Natural ice wines require a hard frost (roughly -8 °C, 17 °F) to occur sometime after the grapes are ripening|ripe, which means that the grapes may hang on the vine for several months. If a frost does not come quickly enough, the grapes may rot and the crop will be lost. If the frost is too severe, no juice can be extracted. Bird losses and dropped fruit will also reduce yield the longer it hangs on the vine. Since the fruit must be pressed while still frozen, pickers often must work at night harvesting the grapes within a few hours, while cellar workers must work in unheated spaces. Some winemakers use cryoextraction (that is, mechanical freezing) to simulate the effect of a frost and typically do not leave the grapes to hang for extended periods as is done with a natural ice wine. An example is Bonny Doon's "Vin de Glaciere" (icebox wine). In Germany and Canada! the grapes must freeze naturally to be called ice wine. Becau! se of th e lower yield of grapes and the difficulty of processing, ice wines are more expensive than table wines. The high sugar levels lead to a slower than normal fermentation. They are often sold in half-bottles (375 ml).Typical grapes used for ice wine production are: Riesling, considered to be the most noble variety by Germans; Vidal Blanc, highly popular in British Columbia and Ontario; and, interestingly, the red grape Cabernet Franc. Many vinters, especially from the New World, are experimenting to make icewine from other varieties; whites such as Seyval Blanc, Chardonnay, Kerner, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Blanc, Ehrenfelser or reds such as Merlot, Pinot Noir, or even Cabernet Sauvignon. Ice wines from white varieties tend to be pale yellow or light gold in color when young and can maderize (acquiring deep amber-golden color) as they age. The red varieties tend to have a light burgundy or even pink color like that of ros? wines.Connoisseurs argue whether ice wine improves with ag! e or is meant to be drunk young. Those who support aging claim that ice wine's very high sugar level (which is often much higher than Sauternes) and high acidity preserve the content for many years after bottling. Those who disagree contend that as ice wine ages it loses its distinctive fruitiness, aroma, and freshness.

I was actually pleasantly surprised at the sound quality this unit gives, considering that there is no way to attach an external microphone. If you look on the Olympus website, you'll see that the DW90 has a sampling frequency of 22 kHz in HQ mode. That's better than the norm of 8 to 16 kHz that many others use (although not as good as something like the DM10 or new DS-2, which record at CD quality 44.1 kHz).The frequency response is only 300 to 5,800Hz, so I wouldn't try recording a symphony, but that's comparable to many of these voice recorders (again that DS-2 actually covers 100 to 17,000Hz.Impressive).If you're willing to download to PC frequently and don't need to capture more than 20 minutes at a time, it's a pretty good little device. It's also impressive that even after my wife dropped the recorder in the bath, it still works. Now the batteries don't last long, and I can't rewind, but everything else works great.

Champagne_(beverage)

Champagne is a sparkling wine produced by inducing the secondary fermentation of wine. It is named after the Champagne (province)|Champagne region of France. While the term "champagne" is often used by makers of sparkling wine in other parts of the world, such as California and Canada, it should properly be used to refer only to the wines made in the region of Champagne, France. The community, under the auspices of the Comit? Interprofessionel du Vin de Champagne has developed a comprehensive set of rules and regulations for all wine that comes from the region. These rules are designed to ensure that the highest quality product is produced and include a codification of the most suitable places for grapes to grow, the most suitable types of grapes ? all Champagne is produced from one or a blend of three varieties of grapes: chardonnay, pinot noir, and pinot meunier ? and has identified a lengthy set of requirements that specify most aspects of viticulture. This includes vi! ne pruning, the yield of the vineyard, the degree of pressing applied to the grapes, and the time that bottles must remain on the lees. Only if a wine meets all these requirements may the name Champagne be placed on the bottle. The rules that have been agreed upon by the CIVC are then presented to the INAO for final approval. In Europe and most other countries, the name "champagne" is Protected designation of origin|legally protected to mean only sparkling wine produced in its namesake region and adhering to the standards defined for that name as an ''Appellation d'Origine Contr?l?e''. Even the term ''m?thode champenoise,'' or ''champagne method'' is, as of 2005, forbidden in favor of ''m?thode traditionelle''. There are sparkling wines made all over the world, and many use special terms to define their own sparkling wines: Spain uses ''Cava'', Italy calls it spumante, and South Africa uses ''Cap Classique''. A sparkling wine made from Muscat grapes in Italy uses the Denom! inazione di Origine Controllata|DOCG ''Asti''. In Germany, Sek! t is a c ommon sparkling wine.
Other sparkling wines not from Champagne sometimes use the term "sparkling wine" prominently on their label. While most countries have labeling laws that protect wine producing locations such as Champagne, some ? including the United States ? continue to allow U.S. wine producers to utilize the name “Champagne” on the label of products that do not come from Champagne. To allow this practice, the U.S. Congress passed a law claiming that the term "Champagne" is semi-generic. This often leads to consumer confusion about genuine Champagne and is seen as deceptive by some consumers and wine experts. While some U.S. companies ironically claim that their long usage of the term prevents them from dropping the word ''champagne'' on the bottle, many quality U.S. sparkling winemakers have ceased use of the term, instead favoring "sparkling wine" as their identifier.Champagne's sugar content varies. The sweetest level is doux (meaning sweet), proceeding in order of increas! ing dryness to demi-sec (half-dry), sec (dry), extra sec (extra dry), brut (almost completely dry), and extra brut / brut nature / brut zero (no additional sugar, sometimes ferociously dry.).

Ready-mix_concrete

Ready-mix concrete is a type of concrete that is manufactured in a factory according to a set recipe, and then delievered to a worksite, often by truck. This results in a precise mixture, allowing specialty concrete mixtures to be developed and implemented on construction sites. The first ready-mix factory was built in the 1930s, but the industry did not begin to expand significantly until the 1960s, and it has continued to grow since then.Ready-mix concrete is sometimes preferred to on-site concrete mixing because of the precision of the mixture and reduced worksite confusion. However, using a pre-determined concrete mixture reduces flexibility, both in the supply chain and in the actual components of the concrete. The leading ready-mix concrete supplier worldwide is the mexico|Mexican concrete and cement company Cemex, and their main competitor is France-based Lafarge.
